Registration for the 2013 Warriors and CODE Summer Lacrosse program is now OPEN!

Warriors and CODE Lacrosse is happy to open registration for our joint summer lacrosse program.  Details are as follows:

Who: This program is open to all boys in rising 5th through rising 9th grades (grades 5-9 in the 2013/14 school year).  The players will be split into two groups each night.  Rising 5th, 6th, and new 7th graders will be together while rising 8th, 9th, and experienced 7th graders will be in another group.

What: Instructional program for boys learning the game of lacrosse.  We accept players of all skill levels.  The first hour of each session will be position specific teaching of skills and real game situation teaching. The second hour of each session will be scrimmages to put into practice the skills learned. The last two sessions will be strictly for games with certified officials.

When: Tuesdays and Thursdays starting June 25th through August 1st from 5:30 to 7:30 pm

Where: Deep Run Park

Coaching staff: We will have the best coaching staff we have ever had with players from Christopher Newport and Hampden-Sydney, and local high school coaches/players.  We will also have various guest coaches to help improve the atmosphere and learning.

Please call the Warriors Lacrosse Hotline for practice/game cancellations, updates on field conditions, and changes/notes about the day's schedule.  The hotline number is 381-9112. Here are a few things to keep in mind about the hotline:

• Messages for that day's events will be updated by 3:15 pm on that day.  We will do everything we can to update the message as early as possible, however, the county has until 3:00 pm to make a decision for that day. 
• If it is after 3:15 pm and there is no message for that day, then that means there are no cancellations to report and games and practices will be held as scheduled.  The hotline is only updated when needed, therefore, there will not be a new message every day.  If you call before 3:15 and there is an old message on the hotline, it may be best to check back around 3:15 to make sure a new message for that day has not been posted.
• Cancellations are based on field conditions, not the weather.  This means that if fields are saturated after a day or two of rain, the field may be closed even if it is sunny and nice.  Also, if it is raining at the start of the game but the field is open and in good condition, the game/practice will be held in the rain (as long as there is no thunder/lightning).
• The hotline is the best source of information for Warriors Lacrosse.  There are county hotlines that some people call, but that will not give all of the information necessary.  Locations, times, and plans may be changed based on field conditions, so it is always best to check our hotline and use that information. 
• If time allows, we may send out email messages and put a message on the website, but this is not always the case.  Call the hotline when in doubt.
